DIY Beauty Products
You already know that you don’t have to spend a fortune to look beautiful. Sure, there are some things you may want to splurge on from time to time. But pampering yourself doesn’t have to put a hurtin’ on your purses. Consider the following ideas that will help you save some money on your favorite beauty products.
Got Acne or Oily Skin? Tea Tree Oil works wonders! It can be used either as an astringent or an overnight pimple reducer. Mix a little tea tree oil with some toothpaste (paste NOT gel) and leave it on overnight to take down the redness and size.
Got Bags under your eyes? Try Preparation H…yeah the hemorrhoid cream. I saw this tip recently on Dr. Oz. Preparation H will constrict the delicate blood vessels under your eyes and reduce the puffiness.
Need a hand sanitizer? This is really easy to do. Mix equal parts of rubbing alcohol with aloe vera gel and add your favorite oil like rosemary or lavender. Your can buy plastic bottles at WalMart, Costco or a health/vitamin store.
Need a rich, moisturizing body oil? Olive or Soy Oil works great here when mixed with a light scented oil like rosemary or lavender. It works great on rough, dry skin. You can even add a little olive oil or coconut oil to your favorite shampoo or conditioner for great moisturizing benefits. Not too much though!
Need a body scrub? Go to Costco and buy bulk amounts of either salt or sugar. Go to the spa products store or a health/vitamin store to buy some scented essential oils…like apple, grapefruit or a crisp, citrus scent. Bath and Body Works may be option too. Mix in the oils with a larger amount of either soy, sesame or olive oil. Add in the salt or sugar until you get the desired consistency. Store in sealed containers. This is not only a great moisturizer but also a great exfoliator!
