Holiday De-Stress Tips

Now that one half of the holiday season is over, you have a moment to breathe before you ring in the New Year.  Shopping, cooking and visiting family and friends can take a toll on your appearance, energy levels and overall state of well being.  But you don’t have to look like you’ve been run over by Santa Claus and his sleigh of reindeers!  🙂  Take a moment for yourself to de-stress this holiday season. YOU DESERVE IT!

Get Some Sleep!

This is the one, absolute best thing you can do to keep your under eye bags and circles at bay.  Do what you can to sleep at least 7 to 8 hours at bedtime. Get to bed an hour or so earlier to help you get the rest you need.  If you can’t do that, try to sneak in at least a half hour nap in the afternoon.  It does wonders for your energy levels and your complexion.

Get a Massage! 

Treat yourself to a massage with one of those gift cards you received for Christmas.  A deep tissue or Swedish massage will help to work out the kinks and tight muscles in your neck, shoulders and back.  If you can, get a foot massage….even better!

Get Some Vitamin D!

This is a really easy one to do.  All you need to do is take a 20 minute walk or jog outside in the sunshine.  The sun is an excellent source of Vitamin D…better than any supplement or pill you can take.  Clinical studies show that not only is Vitamin D great for your immune system, strong bones and your metabolism,  it also helps to reduce stress, tension, muscle aches and pain.
