Timing is Everything

Your time is limited.  Between school, work and/or motherhood you BARELY have enough time to squeeze in 5 or 6 hours of sleep every night.  So, how can you manage to find the time to get a manicure or massage every now and then?  Well, timing is everything, especially when it comes to your pampering routine.  Whether you visit a day spa or a nail salon, there are specific times and days of the week that are better than others.

If you need to go to the hair salon, NEVER go on a Friday or Saturday morning.  It goes without saying that those are the most hectic days of the week.  The stylists are super busy and may not be able to give you the attention to detail you need.   Don’t take the first or the last appointment of the day either. The best times are Tuesday or Wednesday late morning or early afternoon. Try to aim for the second or third appointment of the day, that way the stylist is there and set up but not yet tired.

If you plan on getting a massage at a day spa, the best time to do so is on a Tuesday or a Wednesday. Some spas follow the day schedules of hair salons and are closed on Mondays.  Getting a massage during your lunch hour on Tuesday or Wednesday guarantees you a fresh massage with a well rested masseuse.

The next time you want to get a manicure or a pedicure, the same logic applies.  Go in the morning during the early part of the week (Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday).  If you must go on the weekend or during peak times, make sure you are one of the first appointments of the day.  Being the first pair of feet in the pedicure bath is better than being the last pair of feet of the day in the same bath. 🙂

Pamper Wisely,
